What We Confess, Believe, and Teach

God - We teach that there is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4), eternally existing in three persons:
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:13).

Jesus Christ - We teach that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully human, who by His
death on the cross has redeemed us (1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Colossians 1:15-20).

Salvation - We teach that Jesus Christ is the only Lord and Savior (Acts 4:12), and the
Gospel is the power of God for salvation for all who believe (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:
3-5).  This salvation is the free gift of God ("grace") which is to be received by faith alone
(Romans 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:8).  We teach that one can have the assurance and certainty of
eternal life (John 5:24; 1 John 5:11-13).

The Bible - We teach that the Bible, as a whole and in all its parts, is the divinely inspired,
revealed, and inerrant Word of God, and is therefore the final authority in all matters of faith
and life (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 18:30; Isaiah 45:19; Titus 1:2; Hebrews 6:18).

The Church - We teach that the congregation is the local body of Christ (Colossians 1:24),
part of the one true Church (Romans 12:5) made up of all who believe in Christ as Lord.  TO
the building up of this body, the Holy Spirit gives each member "gifts" which are to be used
and exercised to the edification of the congregation and to the extension of God's Kingdom on
earth (Ephesians 4:11-12; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-31).

Worship - We teach that above all else, God seeks a people who will worship Him in spirit
and in truth (John 4:23).  We are a congregation that teaches and represents a variety of
practices and worship preferences, with the proclamation of the Word of God always being
central.

Baptism/Holy Communion - We teach that Jesus instituted Holy Baptism and Holy
Communion.  We teach that God truly acts in these sacraments, and that our faith is an
essential part of the equation.

The Return of Christ - We teach that Christ will return in power to judge the living and the
dead (Matthew 25:31ff).
